This client was downsizing from a large home, now that it was just the two of them and although they were losing square footage, they wanted to gain design aesthetic.  They requested their bedroom to be soft, warm, and comfortable while still feeling like a primary bedroom.

After understanding their needs and preferences our Elmira Interior Designer created a design concept incorporating fabric, fabric, and more fabric.  Nothing adds more warmth, softness, and luxury in a bedroom than fabric.  Starting with a tall, upholstered headboard we then designed a custom bedspread and pillows to create an elevated look.  An upholstered bench provides additional softness and texture as well as functional seating and storage.

The custom window treatments not only add beauty to the space but also offer much needed privacy and light control.  A top down bottom up shade allows natural light to fill the space while maintaining privacy.  Traversing drapes in an updated pleated style add a luxurious feeling and extra room darkening capabilities.  A large mirror opposite the window helps to bounce light around the space.

The black wood furniture pieces contrast with the wood floors, adding sophistication and needed storage in a small footprint.  This bedroom feels so relaxing, luxurious, warm and the client absolutely loves it.  We are so pleased to be a part of making every morning and every evening an enjoyable experience for them.
